Abstract artwork is art in which the depiction of real objects has been subordinated in favor of patterns, lines, and color.
The abstract models of your original object should still be slightly recognizable. Don't forget the litmus test! The litmus test consists of a stranger(most likely from the VAB hallway) determining whether the original object is still identifiable within your abstraction of it.
